Yes, I am most definitely still milking my Wellington trip for all the bookshops and toilets since I've kind of run out in the Nelson area. So I'll ask you this, fine reader, what's better than books? You guessed it; cheap books. Where can you get cheap books? Well, I can tell you that Wellington's Cuba Mall area have at least two places that are a great start.
First off is Arty Bees Books. If you're walking up Cuba St, the bright yellow signage may catch your eye. Mosey on inside and you'll be like "whoa this is big and legit." Well that was my reaction anyway. For a secondhand bookstore, Arty Bees is big and well laid out so that it actually feels like a full blown "come and buy the expensive new release" bookstore. The selection was great and included a really interesting section of New Zealand and our history. Also the books were pretty well priced so I didn't pick one up and feel like my wallet was screaming when I looked at the price. All in all, a nice practical second hand bookstore.

The other secondhand bookstore I came across during my exploration of the Cuba Mall was Pegasus Books. Not going to lie, this one doesn't look as legit as Arty Bees. It's kind of up a back alley and it's more of your standard "there's books everywhere and I love it" kind of set up. But the selection....oh the selection. I have to say, one thing I've never found before in a secondhand bookstore is a gender and sexuality section but Pegasus Books has just that! The whole place is arranged sensibly and everything is signposted so you can find what you're looking for with relative ease! It was the type of place that I could've spent hours and hours just milling around and reading blurbs.

You can find Arty Bees and Pegasus Books online as they both have websites and I would totally recommend checking them out if you're in Wellington!
