Hello crappers!

We're on the homestretch for loos on New Zealand's West Coast! Next up is Westport!

Westport is one of the main towns on the West Coast and the largest in the Buller district. In the 1800s, gold attracted people to the region and later coal became its driving force. Nowadays, it has extended its industry into fishing, timber, tourism and dairy farming. With a population of around 4000, it's a small but vibrant community.* It's public toilet facilities are equally vibrant. The two I found were both at the Westport War Memorial Park.

The first is on Brougham St which is the road towards Karamea.

These toilets are simple and functional. They're gendered with accessible stalls. There are multiple stalls in each side and they have sinks. No soap though; there were dispensers so I got excited for a second. It smelt good and was well ventilated. All in all, pleasant.

The other set of the toilets were diagonal from the Brougham St ones. If you turn onto Russel St, you'll find yourself outside this second unit.

So these ones were POSH. Although they don't look like it much on the outside, these are some high tech shit. They're gender inclusive and accessible. The more fun thing is that they're also those automatic superloos so they have automatic locking, an automatic hand washing unit, automatic flushing; so much automation! They also have SOAP!!!!! We love to see it! I have to say the water pressure from the swanky auto hand washing unit was a bit much; let's just say I've encountered less aggressive firehoses. Despite coming out a bit damp courtesy of the overzealous tap, this was a fun futuristic loo experience! A+, Westport!

Happy crapping, y'all!
